If you were to put a frog in a pot of water and heat the water; the frog will adjust as the temperature of the water increases. The frog will continue to adjust as the temperature continue to climb. Suddenly, when the frog gets the notion that it is finally time to get out of the water, he can’t. Then he dies.
God has given us a built-in system to adjust to the stress we may have . It is utterly amazing how we able to withstand even the challenging situations. We are resilient, we adjust, we keep it moving, we adjust again and again. Unfortunately, continuous adjusting can prove to be detrimental to our health. We have to pay attention the signs of stress mentally and physically and then intervene. Stress is known as the “silent killer.” As we adjust, what is going on silently in our bodies; what is building up on the inside?
The symptoms of stress can vary. We can have physical and emotional symptoms. When we are noticing these symptoms, take notice how long you have been having them. It is also a good idea to contact your doctor to determine if these are symptoms of a medical condition that you may already have.
